THOMAS HARDY, nació en Inglaterra, en Higher Bockhampton, Stinsford, cerca de Dorchester, el 2 de junio de 1840 - Muere en Max Gate, el 11 de enero de 1928. Es un novelista y poeta inglés superador del Naturalismo de su tiempo.

She wore a 'terra-cotta' dress,
And we stayed, because of the pelting storm,
Within the hansom's dry recess,
Though the horse had stopped;
yea, motionlessWe sat on, snug and warm.
Then the downpour ceased, to my sharp sad pain
,And the glass that had screened our forms before
Flew up,and out she sprang to her door:
I should have kissed her if the rain
Had lasted a minute more.


Llevaba un vestido terracota,
Nos detuvimos, a causa de la tormenta ,
En un bello receso, para secarnos.
El caballo se detuvo, inmóvil;
Nos sentamos , bien calentitos.
Entonces, la lluvia cesó,
mi triste y agudo dolor.
